You will discover different facets of vocal jazz and receive the starter kit with the important basics to help you dive into the world of jazz singing. With this, we’ll lay the foundation you need to play confidently with jazz musicians.
Jazz as opposed to classical voice use and how do I do it in a healthy way
Voice fit and sound in jazz
Mic work
The feeling in the blues (learning simple basic musical forms and phrases, expression and phrasing, own shaping, first improvisation approaches)
The character of bossa nova (timing and basic rhythms, voice color and sound, binary versus ternary (even eighths in jazz))
The characteristics of swing (phrasing and articulation, basic forms such as rhythm changes and II-V-I connections)
What role does rhythm play in a ballad, how do I tell my story
We work with lyrics and interpretation, with atmosphere, with different vocal sounds, with variations of the melody and first improvisation approaches (call & response).
6 class days, 1 afternoon off, approx. 30 hrs.
In the morning joint lessons with vocal coach, in the afternoon in smaller groups in the masterclass principle, with musical accompaniment (bass or guitar).
After dinner, you can take the opportunity to try out newly learned skills in a small session.
At the end of the week we give a final concert on the beautiful stage in our garden, in a small circle, where each participant has the opportunity to perform a song.
After your registration you will receive your personal login data* by mail. This will take you to the members area where your course will be activated (after payment). Only those who have also booked the course have access there.
On your course page, in addition to everything you need to know before you start, you’ll find the lead sheets of four songs (blues, swing, bossa, ballad). You should prepare these pieces well, i.e. master the melody and lyrics. The more familiar you are with the pieces, the better you will succeed in working on the songs.

Max. 9 Teilnehmer, mindestens 6.
