Little Hellazz - Easter Workshop

For whom:

You already have experience in jazz singing, know some standards and would like to try your hand at improvising. You also want to delve deeper into the world of jazz singing and learn more about phrasing and vocal sound, for example.

About this course:

Sing, sing, sing: Solo, but also together. Exercises that are neglected in many workshops and that are so important for your sound, your rhythmic feeling, your interpretation and improvisation.

We have built the course on three pillars.

Improvisation & Co:

From blues collage to circle songs, improvisation on harmonic relationships, the basic tools of improvisation, vocal sound, vocal quality, phrasing, call & response daily from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Masterclass:

You bring one or two songs and work with Natascha individually while the others listen. You will work on phrasing, vocal sound, rhythmic elements and arrangement, depending on where you are at the moment. Perhaps you can already transfer some of what you worked on in the morning.

James will accompany you so that Natascha can concentrate fully on you. 2 hours in the afternoon.

Singing in an ensemble:

A world that teaches us a lot about timing, articulation, dynamics, balance, rhythmic phrasing and homogeneity. We rehearse a song and learn in polyphonic singing that we have to sing much more precisely than we know from our solo pieces. 60 minutes in the evening.

What is the framework plan?

4 days of lessons, approx. 24 hrs.
Mornings: joint lessons with a vocal coach

Afternoons: masterclass principle, with musical accompaniment (guitar)

Evening: ensemble singing

On the last day of the course, we give a final concert in our garden, in a small group, where each participant has the opportunity to perform a song.

What you need to prepare:

You will also need to bring one or two songs of your own that you know by heart.
